Answer

The “snom OCS edition” is a special Firmware for snom Voice over IP phones, enabling them to connect directly and natively to Microsoft® Office Communication Server 2007 and Microsoft® Office Communication Server 2007 R2. The “snom OCS edition” refers to “Open Communication Solution”, this is because the phones still remain their snom open SIP‐Stack to communicate with existing a SIP‐PBX or a SIP‐Gateway supporting failover. This also allows you to perform soft/mild migration from an existing SIP capable IP‐PBX towards Microsoft® Office Communication Server 2007, as the phone can register with both systems in parallel.
