Overview

Call Transfer is a classic PBX (Private Branch Exchange) feature which enables the user to transfer a call to another extension using a variety of methods. snom phones support three types of transfer which are distinguished by the call state the transferred party is in when the transfer is initiated and the call state the transfer destination is in when the transfer is completed:

  • Blind Transfer: The transferred party is an answered call that has been put and hold, but the transferring party does not wait for the transfer destination to answer before completing the transfer.
  • Attended Transfer (also referred to as "Consultation", "Assisted", "Supervised", or "Consultative" Transfer): The transferred party is an answered call that has been put and hold, but the transferring party waits for the transfer destination to answer before completing the transfer.
  • Call Deflect: The transferred party is an unanswered ringing call, and the transferring party does not wait for the transfer destination to answer before completing the transfer.
