DESCRIPTION
This setting tells the phone whether a headset is connected or not and defines the kind of headset, which is used. A simple headset can only be used via the headset button on the phone. The more advanced headsets, which are supporting the headset key events, are able to additionally control the phone with the keys on the headset (offhook/onhook, mute). It the connection method is configured wrong, then the key events will not work.
