The Snom 3X0, 820 and Snom M3 phones are fully interoperable with the Innovaphone PBX of Innovaphone and range of features and serviceability. The wide range of features and serviceability can be offered using the Innovaphone/Snom combination including:

  • Registration
  • Basic call scenario
  • Call Display
  • Hold/Reconnect
  • Conference,
  • Media shuffling
  • Codec: G.711, G.729, G.723
  • MWI
  • DTMF
  • Do Not Disturb
  • Call Forwarding unconditional short code scenarios

The serviceability testing focused on verifying the ability of snom 3X0, 820 and Snom M3 phones to recover from adverse conditions, such as disconnecting/reconnecting the Ethernet cable to the device.

Note: The G.723 is not including in the M3. For more details on Innovaphone products visit www.Innovaphone.com

1. Innovaphone Customer Portal

Innovaphone provides an extensive online portal to provide customers with support in using their Innovaphone PBX Access to the Innovaphone Customer Portal requires a valid username and password. If you don't have this please contact your Innovaphone Customer Support Engineer or Innovaphone Account Team.

2. Equipment and Software Tested

The following equipment and software were used for the test:

3. Configure snom 3X0

This section provides the procedures for configuring snom 3X0. The procedures include the following areas:

  • Launch web interface
  • Administer advanced settings
  • Administer identity
  • Administer function keys

3.1 Launch Web Interface

Access the snom 3X0 web-based interface by using the URL “http://ip-address” in an Internet browser window, where “ip-address” is the IP address of snom 3X0 and the login with the appropriate credentials.

The Welcome to Your Phone screen is displayed, as shown below.


3.2 Administer Advanced Settings

Select Setup > Advanced from the left navigation to display the Advanced Settings screen. Update the desired parameters to reflect the Innovaphone PBX network configuration.

In the compliance testing, IP address, Netmask, and IP Gateway parameters were updated, as shown below.

Scroll down the screen and click Save (not shown).


3.3 Administer Identity

Select Setup > Identify 1 from the left navigation to display the Configuration Identity screen. Enter the following values for the specified fields, and retain the default values for the remaining fields. Click Save.

  • Displayname: A desired string for the phone display.
  • Account: The SIP base extension from Innovaphone PBX server.
  • Password: The SIP user login code from Innovaphone PBX server.
  • Registrar: The LAN IP address from Innovaphone PBX server.
  • Authentication Username: The SIP user name from Innovaphone PBX server.

For the Mailbox field, enter “x@y”, where “x” is the existing short code for the Voicemail Node on Innovaphone PBX, and “y” is the LAN IP address from Innovaphone PBX server.

3.4 Administer Function Keys

Select Setup > Function Keys from the left navigation to display the Function Keys screen. Locate the RETRIEVE function key. For Type, select “Speed Dial.” For Number, enter “x@y” where “x” is the existing short code for the Voicemail Node on Innovaphone PBX, and “y” is the LAN IP address from Innovaphone PBX server.

Scroll down the screen and click Save (not shown).

3.5 Verify snom 3X0

Follow the procedure in Section 3.1 to access the snom 3X0 web-based interface. Select Status > System Information from the left navigation to display the System Information screen. Verify that the SIP Identify Status for Identity 1 is “Ok,” as shown below.

4. Configure snom 820

This section provides the procedures for configuring snom 820. The procedures include the following areas:

  • Launch web interface
  • Administer advanced settings
  • Administer identity
  • Administer function keys

4.1 Launch Web Interface

Access the snom 820 web-based interface by using the URL “http://ip-address” in an Internet browser window, where “ip-address” is the IP address of snom 820, and the login with the appropriate credentials.

The Welcome to Your Phone screen is displayed, as shown below.

4.2 Administer Advanced Settings

Select Setup > Advanced from the left navigation to display the Advanced Settings screen.

Update the desired parameters to reflect the Innovaphone PBX network configuration.

4.3 Administer Identity

4.4 Administer Function Keys

Select Setup > Function Keys from the left navigation to display the Function Keys screen. Locate the Retrieve function key. For Type, select “Speed Dial”, and click Save (not shown). The Number field associated with the Retrieve function key is then automatically updated. In the associated Number field, enter “x@y” where “x” is the existing short code for the Voicemail Node on Innovaphone PBX and “y” is the LAN IP address from Innovaphone PBX server.

Scroll down the screen and click Save (not shown).

4.5 Verify snom 820

Follow the procedure in Section 4.1 to access the snom 820 web-based interface. Select Status > System Information from the left navigation to display the System Information screen. Verify that the SIP Identify Status for Identity 1 is “Ok,” as shown below.

5. Configure snom m3

This section provides the procedures for configuring snom m3. The procedures include the following areas:

  • Launch web interface
  • Administer advanced settings
  • Administer identity
  • Administer telephony settings

5.1 Launch Web Interface

Access the snom m3 web-based interface by using the URL “http://ip-address” in an Internet browser window, where “ip-address” is the IP address of snom m3, and the login with the appropriate credentials.

The Welcome screen is displayed, as shown below.

5.2 Administer Advanced Settings

Select Setup > Advanced from the left navigation to display the Advanced Settings screen.

Update the desired parameters to reflect the network configuration.

In the compliance testing, IP address, Netmask, and Default gateway parameters were updated, as shown below.

Scroll down the screen and click SAVE CHANGES (not shown).

5.3 Administer Identity

Select Setup > Identify 1 from the left navigation to display the Configuration Identity 1 screen. Enter the following values for the specified fields, and retain the default values for the remaining fields.

  • Display Name: A desired string for the phone display.
  • Account: The SIP base extension from Innovaphone PBX server.
  • Password: The SIP user login code from Innovaphone PBX server.
  • Registrar: The LAN IP address from Innovaphone PBX server.
  • Authentication Username: The SIP user name from Innovaphone PBX server.

For the Account Mailbox Number field, enter “x@y”, where “x” is the existing short code for the Voicemail Node on Innovaphone PBX, and “y” is the LAN IP address from Innovaphone PBX server.

Scroll down the screen and click Save, followed by Reboot (not shown).

5.4 Administer Telephone Settings

Select Setup > Telephony Settings from the left navigation to display the Telephony Settings screen. Enable the proper values for the specified fields you would like the phone to configure, and retain the default values for the remaining fields.

Under the outgoing identity to be used for, you should enter “Handset name” that matches the “Display Name” in Identity configuration section 6.3.

Scroll down the screen and click Save, followed by Reboot.

5.5 Verify snom m3

Follow the procedure in Section 7.1 to access the snom m3 web-based interface. Select Operation > Home from the left navigation to display the Welcome screen. Verify that the SIP Identify Status for Identity 1 is “OK,” as shown below.
