Answer
The headset was originally designed for snom 320/360 but due to design changes on the snom 300 there is a difference in the microphone pin-out which produces the mentioned noise. snom will provide a new headset as soon as possible (aprox. 08/2006). A workaround is to increase the microphone volume via the Web Interface to 7-8.
