Answer

In order to use firmware versions from 4.0 onwards a license has to be provided to the phone. The license is unique for each phone’s MAC address and will prevent the phone from illegal hardware cloning . It is provided  free of charge.

Solution

  1. Follow the instructions given in this article.
  2. In case of any error message send your license request directly to phonelicense@snom.com. Include the MAC addresses of all those phones you wish to update.
