FAQ/Which types of internal or external phone directories are supported by snom phones

Answer

The following phone directory types are supported:

  1. Internal phone address book (V6)/ directory V7/V8)
    • snom300, snom320, snom360: max. 100 entries (up until fw 8.2.16) / max. 200 entries (since fw 8.2.16)
    • snom370, snomMP: max 250 entries (up until fw 8.2.16) / max. 500 entries (since fw 8.2.16)
    • snom710, snom720, snom760: max. 2000 entries
    • snom820, snom821: max 250 entries (up until fw 8.2.11) / max. 1000 entries (8.2.11..15) / max. 2000 entries (since fw 8.2.16)
    • snom870: max 2000 entries (since fw 8.3.3)
    • manual import/export via CSV files
    • automatic import using Mass Deployment
    • multiple numbers per person (since fw 8.2.16)
  2. LDAP Directory
  3. XML Directory
    • unlimited entries
    • convenient browsing
    • central XML featured Web Server required
    • Version 6: only supported on snom360
    • Version 7: XML browser available for all snom3x0
  4. Xcap synchronization
    • the xcap-directory gets synced into the internal phone directory, thus entries are limited in number (see above for limits).
    • if xcap server loses network, entries are still available on phone
