Answer

  • The snom m9 Base Station can be used with any standard DECT/GAP Handset for Basic Calls and Intercom function. The Generic Access Profile (GAP) (ETSI standard EN 300 444) describes a set of mandatory requirements to allow any conforming DECT Fixed Part (such as snom m9 Base Station) to inter-work with any conforming DECT Portable Part (Handset) in order to provide basic telephony services. The objective of GAP is to ensure interoperability at the air interface (i.e. the radio connection) and at the level of procedures to establish, maintain and release telephone calls (Call Control). GAP also mandates procedures for registering Portable Parts to a Fixed Part (Mobility Management).
  • The advanced features of the snom m9 System (such as caller lists, address book, caller ID etc.) are however only available with a compatible snom m9 Handset.
