Answer
Due to the limited flash memory size on snom300/320/360 the multiple language support in FW Version 7 is provided the following way:
- small or individual installations: use the snom language provisioning script:
- Copy the URL "http://fox.snom.com/config/settings.xml" into your phones Update Settings URL field
- Press save and reboot the phone.
- After bootup several languages are selectable again for phone and web user interface.
- On the web user interface you might have to refresh the page after changing the language.
- large phone installations: use the new XML file mass deployment structure explained in this presentation (page 28). If only language support is required follow these instructions:
- Copy the following files from snom's language provisioning folder onto your local web server:
- settings.xml (--> links to web_lang.xml and gui_lang.xml)
- web_lang.xml (--> links to all desired web user interface languages found in snomlang-7.X.Y.Z.tgz)
- gui_lang.xml (--> links to all desired phone user interface -GUI - languages found in snomlang-7.X.Y.Z.tgz)
- snomlang-7.X.Y.Z.tgz (X.Y=latest FW Version; Z=Revision --> contains all available web/phone user interface XML language files)
- Unpack snomlang-7.X.Y.Z.tgz and change the URLs in settings.xml, gui_lang.xml and web_lang.xml according to your web server's folder structure.
- Enter "http://yourwebserver/settings.xml" into your phones Update Settings URL field and proceed as explained in 1.2.
- Copy the following files from snom's language provisioning folder onto your local web server:
- Hebrew language support has been added:
- Copy the URL "http://fox.snom.com/from6to7-bq/settings.xml" into your phones Update Settings URL field
- Press save and reboot the phone.
- After bootup Hebrew language is selectable for the phone user interface.
