From Snom User Wiki
Settings (configuration parameters) are input variables for the phone's firmware and determine all functional and operational processes on the phone. There are three ways to make changes to these parameters:
- via the phone's user interface (keypad/display)
- via the phone's Web User Interface (using an external web client/browser)
- via Mass Deployment
In order to revert any changes one can perform a Factory Reset which will reset all parameters to their default values.
Configuration parameters are stored on the flash memory of the phone and are loaded on boot-up into the RAM:
- Before firmware version 7 parameters were stored internally in a dedicated partition using a proprietory format.
- Since firmware version 7 parameters are stored internally using XML syntax
